Description - this fantastic set from Guatemala depicts wonderful Mayan tribal imagery set to sterling silver and a black background (very similar to Siam/Nielloware) - gorgeous hand-wrought touches make this set fabulously unique! Thank you to a very helpful person who let me know that these types of sets were made for the tourist trade as souvenirs.
This demi parure includes a brooch and matching screw-back earrings Measurements - brooch ~ approximately 1.75" x 1"; earrings ~ approximately 1.5" x 0.75"
Dates - mid-century, c1940-1960
Hallmarks - the brooch is marked "925 Silver", the earrings are marked "900 Guatemala" ~ please see pictures
Condition - Excellent - this jewelry shows little evidence of age or use - it wears spectacularly! All materials are present, clear, and chip/flake free ; the hardware is in good, working order.
