This chop plate / round platter by Copeland Spode is done on the regal Centurion blank and is decorated in the blue and white pattern, Ermine.  What is a chop plate, you ask? Well, in the olden days, they were used to serve pork chops. Today, they can be used as a platter to serve fruits, veggies, pastries, sandwiches...

Measurements ~ approximately 13" across.

Pattern / Dates ~ early-century, c1931 (as dated by the stamped English Registry No.).

The Copeland Spode company can trace its beginnings back to 1762 and became Copeland Spode in the late 1800s. The company was purchased by the Portmeirion pottery company in 2009, but the name Spode continues on.

Hallmarks ~ "Spode's Centurion United States Design Letters Patent No 84384 England RD No 762857" as seen in the pictures.

Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique.  This piece shows little evidence of age or use.
