WWII Navy Sweetheart Buddy Brooch Celluloid Navy Sailor w/Patch Military Vintage Mid Century 1940s War Years Militaria Jewelry Gift
This wonderful "buddies" brooch is done in plastic (celluloid), is articulated at the arms and legs, is designed as a Navy Sailor in blue dress. He comes with, for lack of a better term, a paper "patch" that says "My Heart Belongs to US Navy". These pieces are hard to find and very collectible!
Note ~ often these pieces were sent home to "sweethearts" while the men were fighting the war.

Book Note ~ my research indicates that similar pieces may be found in Leigh Leshner's Collecting Plastic Jewelry, page 120/163, with an estimated book value of over $200
Measurements ~ approximately 2.5" x 1".
Dates ~ mid-century, c1940.
Hallmarks ~ signed. Normally, unless on a card, these pieces are unsigned, but the pin assembly on this guy is marked "Pat Pend", as seen in pictures.
Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique. While there is some wear to this sailor's face, and the heart is curled, this jewelry shows little other evidence of age or use.
Review pictures carefully.
Shipping ~ FREE!!!
