Wool Embroider Baby Dress Shawl Antique Toddler Mother of Pearl Coat Clothing Vintage Adjustable Ribbon 1900s MOP Gift
This amazing, turn-of-last-century baby dress & shawl/over coat is done in natural-colored wool. This set is accented with expert, floral embroidery and a scalloped, embroidered hem. The dress has, what I believe to be, mother of peal buttons at the shoulders, and the shawl is finished with silky, ribbon straps.
Dates ~ c1910.
Size ~ unknown, but with adjustable ribbon straps to grow with baby.
Measurements:
- Dress ~ approximately 26" shoulder to hem x 8.5" across the shoulders
- Shawl ~ approximately 8.5" shoulder to hem x 6" across the shoulders with adjustable ribbon straps
Materials ~ probably wool with silk ribbons & mother of pearl buttons, but as the items are untagged, and more than likely hand made, this is not guaranteed.
Hallmarks ~ an unsigned/untagged beauty, as seen in pictures.
Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned, vintage/antique. The dress itself shows little evidence of age or use, and the shawl is showing a few areas that are going thread bare (see last pictures). For its 100+ years of age, this item is in spectacular condition!
Notes on Condition of Linens ~ Linens offered here are more than 20 years old and have been loved. While linens are clean, they not been recently laundered, spot treated, or pressed prior to shipping, unless noted above. Linens may be creased, and may have a musty smell from years of storage. However, these great old beauties may just need a little TLC.
