This gorgeous, thrown stoneware tea bowl w/a stunning purple/gray glaze comes out of the Midwest/West (per estate liquidator), possibly South Dakota. The estate appraiser was unsure which particular pots came from South Dakota and which came from North Dakota, Idaho, Ohio or Utah (there was a huge, 50+ piece collection of University Pottery at this particular estate).
University Student Pottery was created by students for the University Art or Ceramics Department, or a University Co-op.
Measurements ~ approximately 3" tall x 6.25" wide.
Dates ~ mid-century, c1950 (per estate liquidator).
Hallmarks ~ impressed "VM" as seen in pictures.
Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique. This piece shows little evidence of age, use or wear and is chip/flake/crazing free; shelf wear is minor.
