Pink Rose Plate by Oscar Schaller Zeh Scherzer Bavaria Germany Vintage 1930s German Designer Gift; Vintage Bavarian Porcelain ~ 6" Plate in Pink Roses by Zeh, Scherzer & Company
A stunning decoration of pale pink roses grace this plate by Oscar Schaller. Accented with brilliant gold gilding, and subtle, delicate scalloping on the rim, this piece is a lovely chic & shabby find.
The matching platter is available here.
Measurements ~ approximately 6".
Dates ~ early century, c1930-1945.
The Zeh, Scherzer & Company can trace its founding back to 1880. In 1991, the company was "bought" by Allerthal A.G., a German investment company. By 1992, all production ceased.
Hallmarks ~ marked as seen in the pictures. While the mark on the plates is different from that on the platter, the set was purchased together and the pattern is a match. The dating is a little odd too. The platter is marked with the c1909-1918 Oscar Schaller mark, while the plates are marked with the c1930-1945 Zeh, Scherzer & Company mark. I have been unable to discover how these two companies are related, outside of the fact that they are both Bavarian.
Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique. This piece shows little evidence of age or use.
