Vintage Dinnerware by Noritake Japan ~ Marigold Chop Plate or Round Platter

Description ~ this lovely round platter by Noritake comes to you in the Marigold pattern #71346 - bands of diamonds accent a cream border which is decorated w/swags of pink, blue, and yellow floral bouquets - beautiful!

What is a chop plate, you ask? Well, in the olden days, they were used to serve pork chops. Today, they can be used as a platter to serve fruits, veggies, pastries, sandwiches... Highly collectible and displays absolutely wonderfully; perfect for set matching and completion or the Noritake collector.

Measurements ~ approximately 12.25" across

Pattern / Dates ~ early-century, 1924 - The conglomerate that is the present day Noritake company can trace its origins back to the New York based trading company founding by the Morimura Brothers in 1876 - today this company still produces high quality and decorative dinnerware w/a rich, supporting history.

Hallmarks ~ marked as seen in the pictures

Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage - with just a touch and slight staining, this piece shows little other evidence of age or use, and is chip/flake free; shelf wear is minimal.
