Vintage Flatware by Oneida ~ 1880 Pairpoint Arlington Cold Meat Fork - Free Shipping
Description - this wonderfully decorative cold meat fork in silver plate by 1880 Pairpoint Mfg. Co. is done in a sleek and sophisticated scroll pattern known as Arlington, which made its debut in 1896.
About this company - founded in 1880 in Massachusetts, the Pairpoint Manufacturing Company continued to produce silverplate until about 1894. At that time, it partnered w/the Mt. Washington Glass Company to make silver and glass combined items, and in 1900, the company became the Pairpoint Company (later to be purchased by Oneida). This hard to find piece and pattern is perfect for set matching and completion.
Dates - it's hard to gather information on this pattern - it appears to have debuted in 1896, but I believe Oneida purchased the pattern and produced it from c1924-1996. As this piece is marked Cold Meat and that marking is worn, my best guess is this is c1920 (probably earlier).
Measurements - approximately 6.5" long.
Markings - "1880 Pairpoint Mfg. Co." - as seen in pictures.
Monogram - "Cold Meat Fork" - please see pictures.
Condition - Excellent - there is little plate loss and little evidence of age, use or wear.
