This lovely round platter by Copeland Spode is done in the Fairy Dell pattern, with its swirled blank and floral sprays of red, blue, and yellow bouquets. This piece is simply fabulous and perfect to dress any table!
What is a chop plate, you ask? Well, in the olden days, they were used to serve pork chops. Today, they can be used as a platter to serve fruits, veggies, pastries, sandwiches...
Measurements ~ approximately 13" across.
Pattern / Dates ~ early to late-century, c1927-1971.
The Copeland Spode company can trace its beginnings back to 1762 and became Copeland Spode in the late 1800s. The company was purchased by the Portmeirion pottery company in 2009, but the name Spode continues on.
Hallmarks ~ marked as seen in the pictures.
Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique. This piece shows little evidence of age or use, and is chip/flake free; shelf wear is minimal.
