Occupied Japan Blue Rose & Moriage Cup & Saucer from Chubu China Vintage Mid Century 1940s Designer Japanese Post War Years Gift

Made during the occupation of Japan following World War II, this stunning cup and saucer is done in brilliant blue panels that are accented with gold and rose floral sprays.  Finished with a touch of moriage, this piece is hard to find and quite the treasure!

Highly collectible and displays absolutely wonderfully; perfect for set matching and completion; an ideal gift for the Occupied Japan collector - or as a hostess gift.

Measurements:

  • tea cup ~ approximately 2.5" across
  • saucer ~ approximately 5" across

Pattern / Dates ~ mid century; c1946-1955.  During the years following WWII, when America "occupied" Japan, wares made in, and exported out of, Japan had to be marked as such.

Hallmarks ~ signed as seen in pictures.

Condition ~ Excellent: pre-owned vintage/antique.  This piece shows little evidence of age or use, and is chip/flake free. Shelf wear and/or use marking is minimal.
