Quality and creativity describe vintage Norwegian silversmiths, and their jewelry is like no other. This piece by Aksel Holmsen is done in blue & white guilloche enamel, designed as a 3D, cutwork flower, and finished with a gold vermeil wash over sterling silver. This piece is quite spectacular!
Measurements ~ approximately 2.5" x 2.5".
Dates ~ mid-century, c1950.
Hallmarks ~ signed "Norway Sterling 925S" with the Aksel Holmsen cartouche, as seen in pictures.
Condition ~ Great: pre-owned vintage/antique. While there is tarnish to the vermeil, and very minor wear to the enamel (see last picture), this jewelry shows little other evidence of age or use and wears phenomenally! The hardware is in good, working order.
Note ~ vermeil pieces remain unpolished.
